NUMBER OF AUCTIONS: There appears to be at least 12-15 ongoing auctions running on the site at all times. Items that are up for unique low bid auction include MacBook Air 13 notebook computers, Mini Cooper Cabrio automobiles, HP Touch Smart PC computers, Sony camcorders, Scarabeo scooters and more.

EASE OF NAVIGATION: The site has nice aesthetics, with a pink; black and white color scheme and simple site navigation. All ongoing lowest unique bid auctions are featured on the front page. Users can click the “Bid” tab to view more product details. The “How It Works” section explains the specifics of how AsteReverse’s unique low bid auctions work. There are also navigation tabs for “Expired Auctions” and “Winners”.

OVERALL RATING: AsteReverse gives members with the two lowest unique bids the opportunity to win the item at the price they bid. They are the only unique low bid auction service able to promote themselves as having two winners per auction. Other unique low bid sites generally reward only the member that has the lowest unique bid at auction’s end. Users can place single bids or purchase a range of multiple bids to increase their chance of scoring products at bargain prices. Each bid has an “Information Costs” that informs users of their bid’s standing.

Unfortunately, we had difficulty registering with the site and received multiple “Server Error” messages when trying to sign up to participate in these unique low bid auctions. It’s hard to determine if this was just an isolated incident, perhaps on a busy high traffic day for the site, or a continual problem. The potential seems to be there for this to be an intriguing auction site – especially considering the likelihood of two winners per auction. It’s unfortunate that this reviewer could not participate in the auctions when putting together this review.
